We are thrilled to announce Sophia Pellegrini Neves as a winner of the Opinion Competition!
Sophia is a 5th-year law student at the University of São Paulo (USP), with a dual degree from Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne. Her journey into arbitration began with moots, where she excelled as a speaker at the XIII CAMARB and the 30th Vis Moot. She further developed her practical skills through an internship in arbitration and civil litigation at BMA Advogados. Sophia also gained international experience during an academic exchange at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France. Currently, she contributes to Lumina Capital Management, focusing on litigation finance for arbitral and judicial disputes in Brazil and abroad. Her initial involvement with CIArb included assisting with research and organizing events on Written Witness Statements.

Sophia é aluna do 5º ano de Direito na Universidade de São Paulo (USP), com dupla graduação na Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne. Sua trajetória na arbitragem começou com os moots, onde atuou como oradora na XIII CAMARB e na 30ª edição do Vis Moot. Em seguida, estagiou na área de arbitragem e contencioso cível no BMA Advogados. Sophia também realizou intercâmbio acadêmico na Université Lumière Lyon 2, na França. Atualmente, ela estagia na Lumina Capital Management, atuando na área de financiamento e investimento em litígios arbitrais e judiciais, no Brasil e no exterior. Seu primeiro contato com o CIArb foi ao auxiliar em pesquisas e na organização de eventos sobre Written Witness Statements.
